Te Aka has partnered with local chef Paula Kilkelly to offer wholesome meal kits and optional in-house dining for guests wanting to elevate their stay.

Food has always been part of the Te Aka experience.

To expand what’s available to guests, Lisa and Dave have partnered with Paula's Whole Plate — a local chef known for creating nourishing, whole-ingredient meals.

Guests can now pre-order thoughtfully designed meal kits prior to arrival. Each menu is built around quality, fresh ingredients — with vegetables often sourced directly from the home garden and paired with your choice of locally sourced protein.

The intention is simple: make it easy to eat well while staying immersed in the forest.

For those wanting to take it a step further, Paula is also available as an in-house chef. Guests can choose to sit back and have meals prepared on-site, using whole, seasonal ingredients and tailored to individual dietary needs.

Paula brings significant culinary experience. She was runner-up on MasterChef New Zealand, finishing just one point behind the winner in 2013. Her approach combines skill with a focus on fresh, honest food.

Whether it’s a pre-prepared meal kit or a fully catered evening, the option is there to elevate your stay — without losing the simplicity of the setting.
